Public Act MCL Search
Public Acts are Bills that have been approved by the Legislature, signed into law, filed with the Secretary of State, and assigned a Public Act Number. The versions of Public Acts as they were originally passed are considered Legislative Documents and are available from the Public Acts page.
Public Acts also become part of the Michigan Compiled Laws. The versions of the Acts in the MCL are the Acts as they exist today and include changes made to them via subsequent legislation. This version is not available for Appropriations Acts, because they are not compiled into the MCL. To search for Public Acts within the MCL, please use the search feature on this page.
When an Initiated Law is adopted by the Legislature, it is also assigned a Public Act Number. Because it is a part of the MCL and was assigned a Public Act Number, it will show up using the search feature on this page. Additional information about these Acts can be found on the Initiatives Page.
Some past versions of MCL Sections are available in the MCL Archive.
