CONTENT

 

The bill would amend the Michigan Memorial Highway Act to designate the portion of Highway I-94 in Wayne County between Oakwood Boulevard and Outer Drive W. as the "Corporal Mohamed Said Memorial Highway".

BACKGROUND

 

Corporal Mohamed Said was a member of the Melvindale Police Department. On July 21, 2024, he responded to a suspicious call and while pursuing one of the subjects was killed in the line of duty. Corporal Said is survived by his parents and younger siblings.
