CONTENT

 

The bill would amend the Michigan Memorial Highway Act to designate the portion of Highway

I-96 in Ionia County, beginning at mile marker 76 and extending east to mile marker 77 as the "Barry Lyn Hause Memorial Highway".

BACKGROUND

 

Barry Lyn Hause was a graduate of Holt High School in Holt, Michigan. He was an avid outdoorsman and was employed as an operating engineer. On September 24, 2019, while cutting concrete on a stretch of I-96 near Portland, Barry Lyn Hause was struck by a driver. Six days later, on September 30, 2019, he passed away.
