Major Boilerplate Changes from FY 2022-23 Year-to-Date:

1.   Deleted Sections. The Senate deleted several sections, which includes: 302a (Enforcing Michigan Law), 306a (Lawsuit Settlement Proceeds Restriction), 309a (Reimbursement Report), 315 (Legacy Costs), 321 (Notification to the Legislature Upon Filing Federal Lawsuits), 324 (Misclassified Entities Complaints Report), 330 (One-Time Job Court), and 331 (One-Time Organized Retail Crime Unit Appropriation).

2.   Lawsuit Settlement Proceeds Fund Modification. The Senate included an additional $3.0 million from the Lawsuit Settlement Proceeds Fund for Corporate Oversight and Consumer Protection, Special Litigation, and Financial Crimes Divisions and $500,000 for the Center for Civil Justice. (Sec. 314)

3.   NEW   Public Safety Prosecutorial Capacity Investment. The Senate included new language that requires a Memorandums of Understanding between the Attorney General and communities receiving support that includes Maintenance of Effort Requirements for staff and spending. (Sec. 318)

4.   Lawsuit Settlement Notification Modification. The Senate increased the threshold for Lawsuit Settlement Notifications from $250,000 to $1.0 million (Sec. 320)

5.   Antitrust Revenues Modification. The Senate doubled the amount of additional antitrust revenues for the Department to cover attorney's fees and the amount that can be carryforward from $250,000 to $500,000. (Sec. 307)
