A bill to amend 1979 PA 94, entitled

"The state school aid act of 1979,"

(MCL 388.1601 to 388.1896) by adding section 6c.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 6c. If a receiving district is not given the approval by a pupil's district of residence to count the pupil in membership for purposes of this article, the pupil's district of residence shall do both of the following:

(a) Provide the receiving district with an explanation concerning why the approval was not granted.

(b) Provide the pupil's parent or legal guardian or, if the pupil is age 18 or older or an emancipated minor, the pupil with the explanation described in subdivision (a).
