A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled

"Michigan election law,"

(MCL 168.1 to 168.992) by adding section 946.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 946. (1) This state, a department, agency, commission, or board of this state, or a county, city, village, or township shall not accept from an individual or entity, either directly or indirectly, a gift of money or other consideration to be used for an election related activity or for election related equipment.

(2) As used in this section:

(a) "Election related activity" includes, but is not limited to, voter registration, voter eligibility review, mailing of election materials, sharing of voter information, creation or dissemination of advertisements about an election, or recruiting and hiring precinct election inspectors.

(b) "Election related equipment" includes, but is not limited to, tabulators, communication devices, signs, tents, voting facilities or locations, or absent voter ballot drop boxes.
