A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled

"Public health code,"

(MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 5146.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 5146. (1) The department shall enter into a contract with a person to establish and implement a COVID-19 vaccination information hotline. The hotline must be accessible to the public 24 hours a day and 7 days a week through September 30, 2022, and must do all of the following:

(a) Provide information on each location in this state that offers COVID-19 vaccines.

(b) Provide real-time updates on COVID-19 vaccine availability.

(c) Allow individuals to preregister for COVID-19 vaccines at hospitals and local health departments and select a communication preference by which to receive updates on COVID-19 vaccine availability, including, but not limited to, notifications when appointments to receive COVID-19 vaccines are available to individuals at hospitals and local health departments in their geographic location.

(d) Allow individuals to schedule appointments to receive COVID-19 vaccines when supplies allow.

(2) This section does not apply beginning October 1, 2022.
