CONTENT

 

The bill would add Section 10251 to the Public Health Code to do the following:

 

 --   Prohibit a health care provider from discriminating against an individual who had a disability solely based on the individual's disability in providing health care and other services related to an organ transplant.

 --   Allow a health care provider to consider the support of an individual who had a disability in determining the individual's ability to comply with postransplantation medical requirements.

 --   Allow an individual with a disability who reasonably believed that a health care provider had violated Section 10251 to bring an action for injunctive relief.

 --   Require an action for injunctive relief to be heard in an expedited manner.
