CONTENT

 

The bill would amend the lobbyist registration Act to do the following:

 

 --   Require a lobbyist or lobbyist agent to file a report on February 28, covering expenditures and financial transactions during the immediately preceding August 31 to January 31.

 --   Require a lobbyist or lobbyist agent to file a report on September 30, covering expenditures and financial transactions during the immediately preceding January 31 to August 31.

 --   Require a report filed on September 30, 2021, to cover the immediately preceding December 31 to August 31.

 

Under the Act, a lobbyist or a lobbyist agent must file a signed report detailing expenditures and financial transactions in a form prescribed by the Secretary of State. A report must be filed on the following dates:

 

 --    January 31 covering the calendar year ending on the immediately preceding December 31.

 --    August 31 covering the immediately preceding December 31 to July 31.

 

Under the bill, except as otherwise provided, a report would have to filed on the following dates:

 

 --    February 28, covering the immediately preceding August 31 to January 31.

 --    September 30, covering the immediately preceding January 31 to August 31.

 

For the report to be filed on September 30, 2021, the report would have to cover the immediately preceding December 31 to August 31.
