                                                                         REPORTED FROM COMMITTEE

Senate Bill 643 (as reported without amendment)

Sponsor:  Senator Paul Wojno

Committee:  Appropriations

CONTENT

The bill would authorize the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) to transfer State-owned property that currently is under DTMB jurisdiction to the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA). The property that would be affected by the bill is an approximately 102.7-acre parcel in Chesterfield Township in Macomb County, commonly known as Sebille Manor.

The property is the site of a veterans home that is under construction by the DMVA. According to the DMVA, a mistake was made on the deed when the property was purchased, and DTMB was incorrectly listed as the property’s owner. The bill would enable the property to be transferred from the DTMB to the DMVA and would allow the deed to be corrected.

FISCAL IMPACT

The bill would have no fiscal impact on State or local government.
