Rep. Ken Borton, from the 105th District, offered the following invocation:

鏑ord Jesus, thank You for giving us the privilege and honor of serving the people of our great State of Michigan.

We are heading into the season when we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, and enjoy time with family and friends. Let this Christmas season and the coming new year be a time of hope and renewal as we make new memories together, celebrate the lives of those we have lost, and move forward with determination to claim God痴 promise in Jeremiah 29:11 - 詮or I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. 禅hey are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

We look to You, Father, to lead us. Give us Your wisdom, and let hope and love fill our days as we work together to make Michigan an even greater state than it is right now.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.
