“Psalms 33:12
Blessed is the nation whose God is their Lord.
Lord first of all we thank You. To God be the
glory, You and You alone. You deserve all the credit, all the honor, and all
the praise. Who are we God, that You are mindful of us? For You created our
inmost being, You knitted us together in our mother’s womb. I praise You
because we are fearfully and wonderfully made. We are not an accident, or a
mistake, but the pinnacle of Your creation. Scripture says, ‘we are God’s
handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in
advance for us to do.’
Lord You have appointed every man and women in
here to do good work. You know every hair on their head and You certainly know
the struggles they all face. And as spring brings the renewal of life, I pray
that You would renew our hearts with a burden for the work You have called us
to.
Lord we also thank You for this incredible
playground we call Michigan. Unmatched in beauty, pristine waters, beaches, and
landscapes. Thank You for these men and women who fight to protect and preserve
these incredible resources. Lord may we be good stewards of these resources and
may Michigan’s rich heritage of hunting, fishing and recreations continue for
generations to come.
Prov. 11:14 ‘For lack of guidance a nation
falls, but victory is won through many advisers.’
As these men and women legislate, would it not
just be over power and politics but the people that they serve. Would You guide
them, as they carry out this job You have called them to.
Lord every person that is here, is here
because they want their lives to count. Help us not to waste our lives but to
make them count for glory of God.
Lord I would like to pray
a special blessing over these advisers, these public servants. I pray that You
would pour out Your favor upon them and their families. I pray that You would
give them an abundance of wisdom, as they discuss complicated issues. There are
so many needs, and so many good causes that they are passionate about. I pray
that You bring the increase where it is needed. May they be good stewards when
it comes to life, resources, regulations, and budgets. Lord Michigan was once
the pinnacle for industry, ingenuity, and job growth. I pray that once again
You would bless this great state with economic growth, and ingenuity. Bless our
schools, our families, and our communities. Guide us as we seek to serve those
around us.
God You sent Your son to serve and not to be
served. But even Jesus needed quiet times away to rest, so I pray that You give
these servants rest when they need rest, give them provision when they need
provision, give them friendship when they need a friend. When they are weary or
heavy laden give them strength, and where wisdom is needed, breath wisdom.
I pray that they would
govern in a way that honors You, because, ‘Blessed is the nation whose God is
their Lord.’
We love You Lord,
In Jesus name Amen.”
