A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled

"Michigan election law,"

(MCL 168.1 to 168.992) by adding sections 736h and 763.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 736h. Notwithstanding any other provision of this act to the contrary, an elector may do any of the following:

(a) Use a camera, including, but not limited to, a cellular telephone camera, in a polling place to take a photograph of himself or herself.

(b) Use a camera, including, but not limited to, a cellular telephone camera, in a polling booth or voting compartment to take a photograph of his or her election ballot, whether the election ballot is completed or not.

(c) Use a camera, including, but not limited to, a cellular telephone camera, in a polling booth or voting compartment to take a photograph of himself or herself with his or her election ballot, whether the election ballot is completed or not.

Sec. 763. Notwithstanding any other provision of this act to the contrary, an absent voter may do either or both of the following:

(a) Use a camera, including, but not limited to, a cellular telephone camera, to take a photograph of his or her absent voter ballot, whether the absent voter ballot is completed or not.

(b) Use a camera, including, but not limited to, a cellular telephone camera, to take a photograph of himself or herself with his or her absent voter ballot, whether the absent voter ballot is completed or not.

Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days after the date it is enacted into law.
