A bill to amend 1927 PA 175, entitled

"The code of criminal procedure,"

by amending section 19 of chapter XVI (MCL 776.19).

the people of the state of michigan enact:


Sec. 19. (1) The board of supervisors commissioners of a county is hereby authorized to offer and pay out of the general fund of the county not to exceed 2,000 dollars more than $20,000.00 as a reward for the arrest and conviction, or for information leading to the arrest and conviction, of any person or persons having committed a crime within the county or having escaped from any penal institution therein: Provided, That the within the county.

(2) The powers granted hereby in this section may be exercised by the finance committee of the board of supervisors commissioners of a county when said the board of supervisors commissioners of the county is not in session upon the request of a reward by the sheriff or the prosecuting attorney of the county.

Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days after the date it is enacted into law.
