House Bill No. 4689, entitled

A bill to amend 1937 PA 306, entitled “An act to promote the safety, welfare, and educational interests of the people of the state of Michigan by regulating the construction, reconstruction, and remodeling of certain public or private school buildings or additions to such buildings, by regulating the construction, reconstruction, and remodeling of buildings leased or acquired for school purposes, and to define the class of buildings affected by this act; to prescribe the powers and duties of certain state agencies and officials; to prescribe penalties for the violation of this act; and to repeal acts and parts of acts,” by amending the title and section 5a (MCL 388.855a), the title as amended by 2002 PA 628 and section 5a as amended by 2006 PA 199, and by adding section 1d.

Reps. Hope, Wittenberg, Elder, Pagan, Brixie, Kuppa, Anthony and Gay-Dagnogo introduced

House Bill No. 4690, entitled

A bill to amend 1927 PA 372, entitled “An act to regulate and license the selling, purchasing, possessing, and carrying of certain firearms, gas ejecting devices, and electro-muscular disruption devices; to prohibit the buying, selling, or carrying of certain firearms, gas ejecting devices, and electro-muscular disruption devices without a license or other authorization; to provide for the forfeiture of firearms and electro-muscular disruption devices under certain circumstances; to provide for penalties and remedies; to provide immunity from civil liability under certain circumstances; to prescribe the powers and duties of certain state and local agencies; to prohibit certain conduct against individuals who apply for or receive a license to carry a concealed pistol; to make appropriations; to prescribe certain conditions for the appropriations; and to repeal all acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act,” (MCL 28.421 to 28.435) by adding section 2c.

House Bill No. 4691, entitled

A bill to regulate the creation of stormwater management utilities by local units of government; to regulate the adoption and content of stormwater utility ordinances; to provide for the allocation of the costs of planning, constructing, operating, maintaining, financing, and administering a stormwater system to real property served by the system; to provide for the establishment and collection of stormwater utility fees; to provide for the reduction or elimination of fees; to provide for appeals; and to prescribe the powers and duties of certain local governmental officers and entities.

The bill was read a first time by its title and referred to the Committee on Regulatory Reform.

 

 

Reps. Garza, Webber, Manoogian, Cambensy, Howell, Eisen and Jones introduced

House Bill No. 4692, entitled

A bill to amend 1964 PA 170, entitled “An act to make uniform the liability of municipal corporations, political subdivisions, and the state, its agencies and departments, officers, employees, and volunteers thereof, and members of certain boards, councils, and task forces when engaged in the exercise or discharge of a governmental function, for injuries to property and persons; to define and limit this liability; to define and limit the liability of the state when engaged in a proprietary function; to authorize the purchase of liability insurance to protect against loss arising out of this liability; to provide for defending certain claims made against public officers, employees, and volunteers and for paying damages sought or awarded against them; to provide for the legal defense of public officers, employees, and volunteers; to provide for reimbursement of public officers and employees for certain legal expenses; and to repeal acts and parts of acts,” by amending sections 16, 17, and 19 (MCL 691.1416, 691.1417, and 691.1419), as added by 2001 PA 222, and by adding section 20.

House Bill No. 4693, entitled

A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled “Natural resources and environmental protection act,” by amending section 1606 (MCL 324.1606), as amended by 2000 PA 414.

The bill was read a first time by its title and referred to the Committee on Judiciary.
