THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 3f. (1) Notwithstanding any other provision of this act
or any rules promulgated under this act, this act does not prohibit
a school, college, or university that is subject to this act from
using a lock block device on a classroom door. The bureau shall not
enforce a rule in a manner that is inconsistent with this section
or promulgate a rule that is inconsistent with this section.

include a lock on the classroom door that is capable of being
locked from the inside of the classroom without the use of a key
during an emergency. The bureau shall not enforce a rule in a
manner that is inconsistent with this section.
(3) As used in this section, "lock block device" means a

without the use of a key. Lock block device includes, but is not
limited to, a magnetic strip, a magnet with a clip, or a magnetic
plate.
