HOUSE BILL No. 5610

     A bill to amend 1899 PA 44, entitled

 

"An act to provide for the publication and distribution of

publications, laws, and documents, reports of the several officers,

boards of officers and public institutions of this state now or

hereafter to be published; to provide for the replacing of

publications lost by fire or otherwise; to provide for the

publication and distribution of the Michigan manual; to provide for

duties of certain state and local government departments and

agencies; to establish certain funds; and to provide for certain

penalties and remedies,"

 

by amending section 6 (MCL 24.6), as amended by 1983 PA 97.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 6. (1) The official journal of the senate and house of

 

representatives shall be printed in highland type or equivalent,

 

same size of page as that of the journals of 1929, and not to

 

exceed 500 copies shall be printed and bound, in volumes of

 

convenient size , to supply the following with 1 copy each:in a

 


quantity to be determined by the secretary of the senate and the

 

clerk of the house of representatives. The official journal of the

 

senate and house of representatives shall be made available to the

 

public on the internet.

 

     (a) Each principal state department.

 

     (b) The members of the legislature of the year when the

 

journals are issued, the secretary, assistant secretary and clerks

 

of the senate, and the clerk and assistant clerks of the house of

 

representatives, and the legislative service bureau.

 

     (c) The library of congress.

 

     (d) The clerk of the state supreme court.

 

     (e) State supported universities or colleges.

 

     (f) Private universities and colleges in this state, upon

 

written request to the secretary of the senate or the clerk of the

 

house of representatives, or both.

 

     (2) Additional copies may be provided to any other

 

governmental officers and agencies and libraries, when approved by

 

the secretary of the senate or the clerk of the house of

 

representatives, or both. The surplus supply shall be deposited

 

with the department of management and budget, to supply future

 

demands.
