A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled
"Public health code,"
(MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 20135.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 20135. (1) An employee of a health facility or agency may
do any of the following:
(a) Inform an individual who is a patient of or a visitor to
the health facility or agency that a child safety seat installed in
that individual's vehicle may not be properly installed.
(b) Refer the individual described in subdivision (a) to a
child safety seat inspection program or to a child passenger safety
technician who has been certified by the national child passenger
certification training program.
(2) A health facility or agency shall not prohibit an employee

from doing any of the activities allowed under subsection (1). A
health facility or agency shall not dismiss, sanction, or in any
other way penalize an employee for doing an activity allowed under
subsection (1).
<<(3) A child passenger safety technician who has been certified
by the national child passenger certification training program,
who acts in good faith, and who acts within the scope of the training
for which he or she is currently certified is immune from any civil
liability or criminal penalty.>>
