SENATE BILL No. 925

May 1, 2014, Introduced by Senators JONES, BIEDA, ROBERTSON, HOPGOOD, BRANDENBURG, ROCCA, KOWALL, HUNE, ANDERSON, EMMONS and SCHUITMAKER and referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

 

 

 

     A bill to amend 1931 PA 328, entitled

 

"The Michigan penal code,"

 

(MCL 750.1 to 750.568) by adding section 145f.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 145f. A person who violates section 145e is guilty of a

 

crime punishable as follows:

 

     (a) Except as provided in subdivision (b), the person is

 

guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more

 

than <<93>> days or a fine of not more than $500.00, or both.

 

     (b) For a second or subsequent violation of section 145e, the

 

person is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for

 

not more than 1 year or a fine of not more than $1,000.00, or both.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days

 

after the date it is enacted into law.


 

     Enacting section 2. This amendatory act does not take effect

 

unless Senate Bill No. 924                                      

 

          of the 97th Legislature is enacted into law.
