House Bill 5073

A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5073 AS INTRODUCED 10-10-13
Section 675 of the Michigan Vehicle Code allows a local authority to permit angle parking on a roadway by ordinance, except that angle parking cannot be permitted on a state trunk line highway. House Bill 5073 would add, "unless authorized by the State Transportation Department."
The term "local authorities" in the Vehicle Code means every municipal and other local board or body having authority to enact laws relating to traffic under the constitution and laws of this state.
The bill also appears to be removing obsolete language referring to certificates of identification for disabled person parking, which are no longer issued.
MCL 257.675
FISCAL IMPACT:
The bill has no apparent fiscal impact.
