FIREFIGHTER BRIAN WOEHLKE
MEMORIAL HIGHWAY
House Bill 4985 (Enacted as Public Act 439 of 2014)
Sponsor: Rep. Robert L. Kosowski
Committee: Transportation and Infrastructure
Complete to 5-12-14
A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4985 AS INTRODUCED 9-17-13
The bill would amend the Michigan Memorial Highway Act (MCL 250.1001 et al.) to designate the portion of Highway M-153 beginning at the intersection of M-153 and Newburgh road, extending east to the intersection of Highway M-153 and Wayne Road as the "Firefighter Brian Woehlke Memorial Highway."
FISCAL IMPACT:
Section 2 of the Michigan Memorial Highway Act indicates that the State Transportation Department shall only provide for the erection of suitable markers indicating the name of the highway "when sufficient private contributions are received to completely cover the cost of erecting and maintaining those markers." As a result, the bill has no state or local fiscal impact.
