SENATE BILL No. 724

     A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled

 

"Natural resources and environmental protection act,"

 

(MCL 324.101 to 324.90106) by adding section 40111b.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 40111b. (1) If an individual presents a lawfully taken

 

deer at a department field office or at a check station and the

 

initial examination shows that the animal was infected with

 

tuberculosis, the department shall issue to the individual a

 

voucher or gift certificate redeemable for a free license to take

 

another deer.

 

     (2) If an individual presents a lawfully taken deer at a

 

department field office or at a check station and the department

 

determines, after a laboratory test, that the animal was infected


 

with tuberculosis, the department shall send that individual a

 

voucher or gift certificate redeemable for a free deer license for

 

the next calendar year's season.
