A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled
"Revised judicature act of 1961,"
by amending section 8316 (MCL 600.8316).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec.
8316. District judges and magistrates shall have
authority
to may perform marriages. and shall charge a fee
of
$10.00
which fees shall be deposited in the treasury of the
district
control unit at the end of each month. The state court
administrative office shall determine the fee which shall be
charged for a district judge or magistrate to perform a marriage
ceremony. A fee paid under this section shall be remitted to the
district court in which the district judge or magistrate performing
the marriage serves.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect
unless Senate Bill No. 698
of the 96th Legislature is enacted into law.
