HOUSE BILL No. 5962

     A bill to amend 1972 PA 239, entitled

 

"McCauley-Traxler-Law-Bowman-McNeely lottery act,"

 

(MCL 432.1 to 432.47) by adding section 24.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 24. The commissioner shall suspend or revoke under

 

section 23 the license of a person who holds a lottery sales

 

license if, because of an unauthorized transaction for food

 

assistance program benefits or family independence program benefits

 

administered under the social welfare act, 1939 PA 280, MCL 400.1

 

to 400.119b, that is related to the sale of a lottery ticket,

 

either of the following occurs:

 

     (a) The person is convicted of or pleads guilty to a crime.

 

     (b) The person is administratively disqualified from acting as

 

a merchant under the food assistance program or family independence

 

program.
