CONTENT

The Social Welfare Act requires the Department of Community Health (DCH) to mail a change to the Medicaid provider manual at least 30 days before the effective date of the change.  House Bill 5931 would amend the Act to allow the Department of Community Health to fulfill this obligation via e-mail.

FISCAL IMPACT

The DCH indicates that enactment of this bill would allow the Department to update manuals without using the United States Postal Service, and would reduce mailing costs by $300,000 Gross and $150,000 GF/GP.
