A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5291 AS REPORTED FROM COMMITTEE ON 5-2-12

The bill would amend the Michigan Memorial Highway Act to designate that portion of Highway M-24 from the southern village limit of the Village of Lake Orion to the northern village limit of the Village of Oxford in Oakland County as the "Gold Star Memorial Highway."

FISCAL IMPACT:

Section 2 of the Michigan Memorial Highway Act indicates that the state transportation department shall only provide for the erection of suitable markers indicating the name of the highway "when sufficient private contributions are received to completely cover the cost of erecting and maintaining the markers."  As a result, the bill has no state or local fiscal impact.
