A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4241 AS INTRODUCED 2-10-11
House Bill 4241 would repeal the Michigan Teacher Tenure Act (MCL 38.71 to 38.191).
Michigan's teacher tenure law superintends the tenure of certificated teachers in public educational institutions, provides for probationary periods, regulates discharges or demotions, provides for resignations and leaves of absence, creates a state tenure commission, and prescribes penalties for violation of the provisions of the act. House Bill 4241 would eliminate the act in its entirety.
