Rep. Mike Shirkey, from the 65th District, offered the following invocation:
“Today’s prayer I offer under the shadow of one of my favorite Bible verses, Col 3:23
‘Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.’
Heavenly Father
May this day be a blessing to You, Lord
May this day be a blessing to You.
Guide our thoughts and our words,
Guard our hearts from this world,
May this day be a blessing to You.
In Your Son’s name we pray, Amen.”
