CONTENT
The bill would amend Public Act 3 of 1939, the Public Service Commission law, to require an electric or natural gas provider to include with any notice of service shutoff under Section 9d information regarding any governmental, provider, and other assistance programs. (Senate Bills 320 and 330 each propose to create Section 9d, which would require a provider to notify a customer before shutting off natural gas or electric service.)

FISCAL IMPACT
The bill would have no fiscal impact on State government.
Municipally owned utilities could experience an increase in costs due to the proposed requirement to provide information on assistance programs with any shutoff notification.
