Senate Bill 266 (as introduced 2-19-09)
Sponsor: Senator Tupac A. Hunter
Committee: Transportation

Date Completed: 5-11-09

CONTENT

The bill would amend the Highway Advertising Act, beginning January 1, 2011, to require a billboard within the State that advertised a sexually oriented business to display only information identifying the name and type of business, location, and hours of operation.

"Sexually oriented business" would mean an adult bookstore, adult video store, adult cabaret, adult motion picture theater, sexual device shop, or sexual encounter center, but would not include a business solely because it showed, sold, or rented materials that may depict sex.
