  1. Trooper School. The Governor, House, & Senate included a new trooper school to begin with 100 recruits. 7,335,900
2. Forensic Sciences. The Governor, House, and Senate included $2.0 million GF/GP to continue operations to Sterling Heights and Marquette crime labs (in FY08 supplemental, P.A. 113 of 2007). An additional $100,000 GF/GP was added. 100,000
3. Palm Print Analysis. The Governor, House, and Senate included an increase of $1.0 million GF/GP and $1.5 million restricted to begin palm print collection and analysis. 2,500,000
4. Michigan Public Safety Communications System. The Senate included $1.8 million GF/GP to help cover existing operational structural deficit. The Governor and House included $3.0 million. 1,800,000
5. Information Systems. The Governor, House, and Senate included restricted funds of $222,800 for traffic crash reporting, 2.0 FTEs and $200,000 for new positions to handle increased workloads and $610,000 to reflect reorganization efforts. 1,032,800
6. Enforcement of Drunken Driving Laws. The Governor, House, and Senate included Federal funds of $250,000 for training to administer sobriety tests and $615,000 for a toxicology grant. 865,000
7. AFIS Upgrade. The Governor, House, & Senate included $200,000 restricted for technical upgrades. 200,000
8. Concealed Weapons Law Enforcement. The Governor, House & Senate included a $100,000 increase for training. 100,000
9. Adjustment for Federal Funds Received. The Governor, House, and Senate included reductions to expected appropriated levels of Federal fund support, in part due to expiration of previous allotments, including $50.0 million in Homeland Security grants, $1.5 million for anti-drug initiatives and $954,700 for traffic safety programs.   Deleted Boilerplate Sections
1. Assistance to Michigan International Speedway. Allows MSP to assist traffic control if funds become available. (Sec. 239)
2. DIT Efficiencies. Language requiring $609,000 GF/GP efficiencies to be taken. (Sec 310)
3. Gun Law Training. Language requiring Federal gun law training to be included in training curriculum for officers. (Sec. 602)
Amended Boilerplate Sections
4. Certified Police Officers for Trooper Recruit School. The House added language requiring the creation of a plan for operating smaller, frequent trooper schools consisting of recruits who are already certified law enforcement officers. The Senate concurred. (Sec. 241)
5. LEIN User Fee Funding. The Senate added language modifying current-year LEIN language to require local users to pay 1/4 rather than 1/3 of system costs. (Sec 301)
New Boilerplate Sections
6. Internet Posting of Expenditures. The Senate added new language to require all fiscal year expenditures to be posted on public website. (Sec. 242)
7. Travel Restrictions. The Senate added language which provides for restrictions on travel when more than one employee is involved. (Sec. 228)
8. Police Allocation. The Senate added language which provides for up to $200,000 to be used for a Statewide State Police allocation study. (Sec. 233)
