A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4906 AS INTRODUCED 6-12-07
House Bill 4906 would amend Public Act 33 of 1951, which concerns the provision of police and fire protection for local units of government, to allow a township board or a county board of commissioners to collect fees if their governmental jurisdiction provided emergency response services for hazardous materials releases or spills, or for the deployment of personnel trained in confined space and technical rescue operations. The collection of fees would have to be authorized by ordinance.
MCL 41.806a
FISCAL IMPACT:
The bill would have no state fiscal impact, but could increase revenue for the local unit of government providing the emergency response service.
