A bill to amend 1984 PA 431, entitled
"The management and budget act,"
by amending section 224 (MCL 18.1224), as added by 2003 PA 12.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 224. (1) Beginning January 1, 2004, a state agency shall
not use a 900 telephone number or other telephone system that
charges the caller for access to public information held or
maintained by a state agency.
(2) Beginning October 1, 2006, each state agency shall obtain
a toll-free telephone number that allows the public to contact the
state agency from anywhere in this state toll free.
