     A bill to amend 1937 PA 94, entitled

 

"Use tax act,"

 

(MCL 205.91 to 205.111) by adding section 4z.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 4z. Beginning January 1, 2006, the tax under this act

 

does not apply to an energy conservation product that is to be

 

affixed to, installed in, or made a structural part of a building.

 

As used in this section, "energy conservation product" includes,

 

but is not limited to, insulation, weather stripping, storm

 

windows, and storm doors.
