SENATE SUBSTITUTE FOR

HOUSE BILL NO. 5872

(As amended, December 12, 2006)

     A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled

"Natural resources and environmental protection act,"

(MCL 324.101 to 324.90106) by adding section 20120e.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

     Sec. 20120e. <<(1)>> Notwithstanding any other provision of this

part,

the department may recalculate relevant cleanup criteria

established under this part based upon the recommendations in the

report entitled "Health Risks from Dioxin and Related Compounds

Evaluation of the EPA Reassessment" issued in 2006 by the national

research council of the national academies, and other appropriate

information.

     <<(2) This section is repealed effective 1 year after the effective date of the amendatory act that added this section.>>
