CONTENT
The bill would amend the Armed Forces Commemoration Act to change the annual commemoration date for the United States Coast Guard from August 14 to August 4.
The Armed Forces Commemoration Act was enacted in 2004 to recognize the men and women who served in the various branches of the United States armed forces. Under the Act, the date of the founding of each branch must be commemorated and the flag of each branch must be flown over the State Capitol annually on its commemoration date.
