A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 6135 AS INTRODUCED 6-6-06
The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to specify that failure to provide a correct notice of a proposed domicile by a sex offender would be a Class F felony against the public trust with a maximum term of imprisonment of four years.
The bill is tie-barred to House Bill 5194, which would require an inmate who is required to register as a sex offender to provide a notice with a proposed place of residence before he or she is released on parole or released after completing his or her full sentence of imprisonment.
