A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5919 AS INTRODUCED 3-29-06
House Bill 5919 is a companion bill to House Bill 5762. House Bill 5762 would create the Long-Term Care Continuum Act, a new act which would incorporate many provisions currently found in the Public Health Code, as well as provisions from the Adult Foster Care Facility Licensing Act. That bill removes from the PHC provisions dealing with nursing homes, homes for the aged, hospices, and adult foster care facilities, as well as related occupations, and incorporates them into a new act.
House Bill 5919 would revise the Public Health Code (PA 368 of 1978) to eliminate provisions and make a number of technical revisions to reflect the creation of the Long-Term Health Care Continuum Act by House Bill 5762. House Bill 5919 is tie-barred to House Bill 5762, meaning it could not take effect unless House Bill 5762 is enacted.

FISCAL IMPACT:
House Bill 5919 amends and deletes certain Public Health Code provisions related to nursing homes, hospices, and homes for the aged as the provisions are incorporated into House Bill 5762, a bill to create the "Long-Term Health Care Continuum Act". There appears to be no fiscal impact by these actions.
