A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4161 AS INTRODUCED 2-2-05

The bill would amend the Acknowledgement of Parentage Act to repeal Section 6.  Under the provision, the presumption of custody of a minor is given to the mother unless otherwise determined by the court or otherwise agreed upon in writing by the parents.
