            House Resolution No. 96.

            A resolution proclaiming the week of May18-24, 2003, as North American Safe Boating Week.

            Whereas, A significant number of boaters who lose their lives by drowning each year would be alive today had they worn their life jackets; and

            Whereas, Modern life jackets are more comfortable, attractive and more wearable than styles of years past and deserve a fresh look by today’s boating public; and

            Whereas, Boaters Against Drunk Driving will be leading efforts to promote the North American Safe Boating Campaign; now, therefore, be it

            Resolved by the House of Representatives, That the members of this legislative body proclaim the week of May 18-24, 2003, as North American Safe Boating Week.  We urge all citizens who boat to “Boat Smart from the Start,” by wearing a life jacket and practice safe boating habits.
