A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled
"Natural resources and environmental protection act,"
(MCL 324.101 to 324.90106) by adding section 17213.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 17213. A person who is in the business of replacing or
2 repairing fluorescent or high-density discharge lamps that are
3 mercury-added products for industrial, commercial, office, or
4 multiunit residential structures shall not place those items or a
5 component of those items into the waste stream except under 1 of
6 the following circumstances:
7 (a) As universal waste managed and disposed of under part 2
8 of the hazardous waste management rules, R 299.9201 to 299.9230
9 of the Michigan administrative code.
10 (b) As hazardous waste managed and disposed of under part
11 111.
1 (c) By delivery to a take-back program established by a
2 manufacturer under section 17207(3)(d).
3 Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take
4 effect unless all of the following bills of the 92nd Legislature
5 are enacted into law:
6 (a) House Bill No. 6137.
