A bill to amend 1976 PA 331, entitled
"Michigan consumer protection act,"
by amending section 9a (MCL 445.909a), as added by 2002 PA 613.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 9a. (1) After each calendar quarter, the attorney
2 general shall by electronic mail provide to the better business
3 bureau of western Michigan, inc., better business bureau of
4 Michiana, inc., better business bureau of Detroit and eastern
5 Michigan, inc., and better business bureau serving NW Ohio and SE
6 Michigan, inc., a list of complaints made by consumers to the
7 attorney general during that calendar quarter of violations of
8 section 3(1)(gg) in connection with a telephone solicitation.
9 The list shall contain the name of each person against whom 1 or
10 more complaints were made and the number of complaints against
11 that person.
1 (2) After each calendar quarter, the attorney general shall
2 provide a copy of the list described in subsection (1) to each
3 member of the house and senate standing committees with
4 legislative oversight of telecommunications issues and to each
5 member of the appropriation committees of the house and senate.
