SUBSTITUTE FOR

HOUSE BILL NO. 4317

                                                                             A bill to amend 1846 RS 2, entitled                                               

"Of the legislature,"                                                       

by amending section 4 (MCL 4.84).                                           

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

1       Sec. 4.  The oath of office of any member or officer of the                 

2   senate or house of representatives  ,  may be administered by,              

3   and taken and subscribed before,  the chancellor, any a justice            

4   of the supreme court, a judge of the circuit court, the                     

5   lieutenant governor, the president pro tempore of the senate, or            

6   the speaker of the house of representatives.
