A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled
"Revised judicature act of 1961,"
by amending section 5855 (MCL 600.5855).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 5855. (1) If a person who is or may be liable for
2 any A claim fraudulently conceals the
existence of the claim or
3 the identity of any A person who is
liable for the claim from
4 the knowledge of the person entitled to sue on the claim, the
5 action may be commenced at any time within 2 years after the
6 person who is entitled to bring the action discovers, or should
7 have discovered, the existence of the claim or the identity of
8 the person who is liable for the claim, although the action would
9 otherwise be barred by the period of limitations.

1 (2) THIS SECTION DOES NOT APPLY TO A CLAIM, AND CANNOT BE
2 USED TO EXTEND A LIMITATION ON COMMENCING AN ACTION, ALLEGING
3 MEDICAL MALPRACTICE.
4 Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take
5 effect unless Senate Bill No. _____ or House Bill No. _____
6 (request no. 05889'01) of the 91st Legislature is enacted into
7 law.
