"Revised judicature act of 1961,"

by amending section 2543 (MCL 600.2543), as amended by 1986 PA

308.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

1 Sec. 2543. (1) The A circuit court reporters or record-

2 ers shall be REPORTER OR RECORDER IS entitled to demand and

3 receive per page for a transcript ordered by any A person the

4 sum of $1.75 $3.00 per original page and 30 cents per page for

5 each copy, unless a lower rate is agreed upon. For a transcript

6 ordered by the circuit judge, reporters or recorders shall be A

8 same compensation.

9 (2) Only if the transcript is desired for the purpose of

10 moving for a new trial or preparing a record for appeal shall the

1 amount of reporters' or recorders' fees paid for the transcript

2 be recovered IN THE COURT OF APPEALS OR SUPREME COURT as a part

3 of the taxable costs COST of the prevailing party in the

4 motion. , in the court of appeals or the supreme court.
