A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled "Natural resources and environmental protection act," by amending section 43532 (MCL 324.43532), as amended by 1996 PA 585. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 43532. (1) A person 17 years of age or older shall not 2 take aquatic species, except aquatic insects, in the waters over 3 which this state has jurisdiction without a license. Thefee4for a resident restricted fishing license is $13.00. Beginning5in 1999, the fee for a resident restricted fishing license is6$14.00. Beginning in 2001, thefee for a resident restricted 7 fishing license is $15.00. Thefee for a nonresident restricted8fishing license is $26.00. Beginning in 1999, the fee for a9nonresident restricted fishing license is $30.00. Beginning in03837'01 ** TMV 2 12001, thefee for a nonresident restricted fishing license is 2 $34.00. 3 (2) The restricted fishing license entitles the licensee to 4 take aquatic species as prescribed by law other than trout or 5 salmon. 6 (3) A PERSON UNDER 17 YEARS OF AGE MAY TAKE AQUATIC SPECIES 7 IN THE WATERS OVER WHICH THIS STATE HAS JURISDICTION, SUBJECT, 8 EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTIONS (4) AND (5), TO THE SAME 9 REQUIREMENTS OF THIS ACT OR OF AN ORDER ISSUED OR RULE PROMUL- 10 GATED UNDER THIS ACT AS APPLY TO A PERSON 17 YEARS OF AGE OR 11 OLDER. 12 (4)(3)A person12 years of age or older but less than13 UNDER 17 years of age may take aquatic species in the waters over 14 which this state has jurisdiction without a license. However, a 15 person 12 years of age or older butless thanUNDER 17 years of 16 age may obtain an all-species fishing license. The fee for a 17 resident or nonresident who is 12 years of age or older, but 18less thanUNDER 17 years of age, for an all-species fishing 19 license is $2.00. The department shall provide a Michigan fish- 20 ing patch to the licensee with the license. The department shall 21 not sell or vendor the list of licensees under this subsection. 22 (5) IN THE WATERS OVER WHICH THIS STATE HAS JURISDICTION, A 23 PERSON UNDER 10 YEARS OF AGE MAY FISH WITH A ROD AND ANY BAIT. A 24 PERSON UNDER 10 YEARS OF AGE IS SUBJECT TO A CREEL LIMIT OF 1 IN 25 AN AREA WHERE THE CREEL LIMIT IS OTHERWISE 0. 26 (6)(4) A resident may purchase an all-species fishing27license upon payment of a fee of $26.00. Beginning in62001, thefee for a nonresident all-species fishing license is 7 $42.00. 8 (7)(5)The all-species fishing license entitles the 9 licensee to take all species of aquatic species as prescribed by 10 law. 11 (8)(6) Any holder ofA PERSON TO WHOM a valid restricted 12 fishing license HAS BEEN ISSUED may return the restricted license 13 to the department or its authorized agent and receive an 14 all-species fishing license by paying a fee equal to the differ- 15 ence in cost between the all-species fishing license and the 16 restricted fishing license for which that person is eligible. 03837'01 ** Final page.
