        A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled

   "The revised school code,"

   by amending section 1216 (MCL 380.1216), as amended by 1992 PA

   236.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

           Sec. 1216.  Except as provided in  part 7a, part 3a, and in

 2
      section 1a of chapter 7 of the municipal finance act, Act No.

 3
      202 of the Public Acts of 1943, being section 137.1a of the

 4
      Michigan Compiled Laws  THE REVISED MUNICIPAL FINANCE ACT, 2001

 5
      PA 34, MCL 141.2101 TO 141.2821, money raised by tax shall not be

 6
      used for a purpose other than that for which it was raised with-

 7
      out the consent of a majority of the school electors of the dis-

 8
      trict voting on the question at an annual or special meeting or

 9
      election.
