        A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled

   "The revised school code,"

   by amending section 1578 (MCL 380.1578).

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

           Sec. 1578.  (1)  The  AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH SCHOOL YEAR,

 2
      THE appropriate authority of each nonpublic school  at the begin-

 3
      ning of the school year  OR THE PARENT, GUARDIAN, OR PERSON IN

 4
      PARENTAL RELATION OF A HOME-SCHOOLED CHILD shall furnish ALL OF

 5
      THE FOLLOWING TO the superintendent of schools of the SCHOOL dis-

 6
      trict in which the nonpublic school OR HOME is situated or the

 7
      intermediate superintendent:

           (a) The name and age of each child who is enrolled at the

 9
      NONPUBLIC school OR OF EACH HOME-SCHOOLED CHILD, AS APPLICABLE.

           (b) The number or name of the school district and the city

 2
      or township and county in which the CHILD'S parent, guardian, or

 3
      person in parental relation resides.

           (c) The name and address of the CHILD'S parent, guardian, or

 5
      other person in parental relation.

           (d)  The  FOR A NONPUBLIC SCHOOL, THE name and age of each

 7
      child enrolled in the NONPUBLIC school who is not in regular

 8
      attendance.

           (2) AS USED IN THIS SECTION, "HOME-SCHOOLED CHILD" MEANS A

      CHILD BEING EDUCATED AT HIS OR HER HOME AS DESCRIBED IN

      SECTION 1561(3)(F).
