CONTENT
Senate Bill 746 would amend the Business Corporation Act, and Senate Bill 747 would amend the Michigan Limited Liability Company Act, to allow a nursing home formed or existing under or subject to the respective Act to use the term "health center" or "health care center", or a term conveying a meaning substantially similar to those terms, or the term "rehabilitation center", as long as the terms did not conflict with the terms prohibited by Section 21712 of the Public Health Code. (Section 21712 prohibits a nursing home from using a name that includes the term "hospital", "sanitarium", or "rehabilitation center", or a term conveying a meaning substantially similar to those words.)
The bills are tie-barred to Senate Bill 525, which would amend Section 21712 of the Public Health Code to allow a nursing home to use the following in its name: "health center" or "health care center", or a term that conveyed a meaning substantially similar to those terms, as long as the term did not conflict with those prohibited by the Code.
