A SUMMARY OF HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION P AS INTRODUCED 6-7-01
Article VI, Section 19 of the state constitution specifies that a person cannot be elected or appointed to a judicial office after reaching the age of 70. The joint resolution proposes an amendment to this provision to increase the age threshold to 75.
If adopted by the legislature, the amendment would be submitted to the voters at the next general election.
